Batteries..a crucial component to keep our Android phones running. After a couple days worth of use, it can run dangerously low. Sometimes it can die without warning.
Luckily there's a simple work around to warn you when your phone is about to die. Never fear, DroidEssentials is here!! DroidEssentials by howardb is a simple app that will set off reminders before your battery is on it's last breath. This app also has the ability to set off notifications when your phone is fully charged. Just a little tidbit, it's best not to leave your phone charging for hours and hours at a time. This can lead to overcharging and will shorten your battery health in the long run. Thus this app can help promote good battery health.
This little app surprisingly has various options found throughout.
Some of the options found are:
-Low and full battery alerts
-Ability to choose notification sounds for low and high battery reminders (mp3s and wav files can be set as notifications)
-Dialogue pop up reminder
-Notification bar reminder
-Notification bar reminder
-Low battery alerts @ 30%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, 1%
Also you have the ability to change your notification bar to white (if you have a dark colored bar) and you get a snazzy little headphone icon (HTC doesn't have a headphone icon when it's plugged in).
Overall this app is quite useful. It saved me the headache from having a dead phone. I also love how easy it is to customize your notifications. This app runs as a Service but I have not seen any significant battery issues from my 6 months of use. This app also has a very small footprint which is a good thing because our phones have limited internal memory. I think this is an app any HTC Sense user should have. Check it out, it doesn't hurt to try because it's FREE!! I thought I'd make a mention about this app because it's a bit underrated yet it does something quite useful.
